10 Essential Foods for your Healthy Power Pantry
The good news is that it is hard to confine this list to only 10! But this selection gives you a healthy start...
 
  • Almonds - high in fibre and calcium with a long shelf life.
  • Macadamia Flour - Gluten free. A good source of calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and selenium. Decreases bad cholesterol level. Wash fish and dip in this flour and pan fry - lovely and crunchy (in store).
  • Oils - Cathedral Cove Coconut Oil & Waiheke Island - both in store and we highly recommend these for any style of cooking.
  • Gluten Free Pasta has good calcium, iron and less fat than regular pasta but remember it still has carbs!
  • Panko Crumbs - these flakes are crispier and crunchier than ordinary breadcrumbs because they don't soak up the oil, so healthier! (In store)
  • Cannellini beans -  these are our go-to-beans for plenty of minerals, protein and fibre. Good in salads, pasta, with fish, or even use in humus as a change from chickpeas.

  • Quinoa -  a must-have with nine essential amino acids! Serve with fish and one of the...
  • Savour and Spice Vinaigrettes -  these are natural and good for your digestion. Great with salad too.
  • Turmeric - packs a power punch with excellent anti-inflammatory properties and is a match for fish.
